At the entrance to the ancient tomb.
The personnel left behind by the five major powers, including the US, were on guard duty. A strange, alluring fragrance suddenly wafted into their nostrils, a stimulating sensation that incessantly tickled their hearts, making them itch.
As this intensely pleasant feeling grew stronger, someone finally couldn’t take it anymore. One of them cursed under his breath, “Where is this scent coming from? Why is it so damn enticing?”
His curse snapped the others awake, and they all warily looked around. “Could someone be ambushing us?”
“Must be a woman… and she feels really beautiful…”
Sure enough, a woman appeared within their line of sight.
The newcomer was young. Black form-fitting clothes outlined her captivating curves. Although her face was partly obscured, her two enchanting eyes were like hooks, every smile and glance exuding charm.
“Hey there, big brothers~ Little me got lost. Could you help me out?” The woman’s voice was sweet and coquettish, yet somehow natural and unaffected. Not a single man present remained unmoved.
Their attention was completely captured, grins unconsciously spreading across their faces.
“It’s dangerous for a girl like you out here in the middle of nowhere. It’s safe with me, come over here,” someone said in English.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense, he’s married! I’m single, we could… give it a try.”
“Better come with me…”
The men, as if possessed, vied to invite her, completely forgetting their duty.
“Well, thank you so much, big brothers~” The woman’s lips curved into a slight smile as she stepped closer and closer to the tomb entrance.
The scene became comical; several men fawning over the woman like desperate simps fighting for scraps…
Just then, someone’s eyes suddenly cleared. Realizing the woman’s intentions were far from simple, he immediately shouted to wake the others: “Stop fantasizing, damn it! She’s using charm magic!”
His shout broke the others free from the enchantment, but it was already too late. The woman had already slipped into the ancient tomb.
“Dammit! A whole group of men couldn’t stop one woman?” someone fumed, frustrated yet helpless.
“Not only did we not stop her, we didn’t even get a clear look at who got past us. How embarrassing is that?”
“Hey, hey, who are you talking about? As if you’re not embarrassed too! She walked right past all of us!”
“Alright, enough arguing,” said the one who woke up first, a man from the island nation. He analyzed, “It’s just one more person going in. The more people inside, the more chaotic it gets. Ye Qingyu will have even more on her plate. That’s not entirely a bad thing for us.”
The others found this reasoning sound and nodded in agreement.
He continued, “Besides, our orders were clear: if we encounter a strong enemy we can’t handle, we just let them pass. We’re even supposed to enter ourselves if things get critical.”
“Right! So it’s not our fault. Blame the opponent for being too strong. We were just following orders.”
Others: “Makes sense!”
Over half an hour later.
A team suddenly arrived. It was Wang Ye and others from Jingcheng’s Special Operations Team.
Seeing that only one person among the newcomers had C-grade strength, the guards exchanged smirks and charged, planning to quickly take a few down to salvage some dignity. Unexpectedly, a silly-looking boy with a mushroom haircut proactively stepped up to fight them.
Is this kid crazy?
Just as someone was pondering this, their body suddenly went numb and began shaking uncontrollably.
“Ahahahaha, so much fun! A bunch of C-grades dare block my way?!” The mushroom-head boy’s voice was drowned out by the crackle of electricity.
Except for a few who fled quickly into the tomb, the rest were all electrocuted and lay twitching on the ground… legs kicking, eyes rolling.
“Handcuff them.”
“Yes, Elder Luo.”
Luo Xiu, as the newcomer, was tasked with cuffing them.
These were no ordinary handcuffs. If the restrained tried to use spiritual power to break free, the cuffs would automatically activate a “punishment” mechanism, forcing them to behave.
“Elder Luo, any further instructions?” Wang Ye asked respectfully.
Luo Wanqing thought for a moment and shook his head. “No instructions. You decide. I’ve got things to do, gotta go!”
With that, he also slipped into the ancient tomb.
Wang Ye was stunned for a long moment, thinking to himself that none of these executive elders were reliable. When it came to crucial moments, none were around. The one who was… well, at least he electrocuted a few guys.
“Captain Wang, should we go in too?” A’kun asked.
“No need. This ancient tomb relic isn’t like ordinary ones. The people coming aren’t ordinary either. Look, even the guards were C-grade. You can imagine the strength of those inside. We wouldn’t be much help. Our job is to secure Jingcheng and prevent the fighting from affecting civilians.”
“Understood!”
During patrol, Sun Yuchen sidled up to Luo Xiu, full of gossip. “So, how’s married life?”
Luo Xiu didn’t really want to talk about it, but this guy was overly enthusiastic. He could only敷衍 (fūyǎn – perfunctorily) reply, “It’s alright.”
“Just alright?” Sun Yuchen was taken aback, then burst into a wide grin. “That means it’s great then…”
Luo Xiu shot him a glance and sighed inwardly.
Why did almost everyone his age think marriage was such a good thing?
Clearly… it wasn’t that great.
She was usually so busy, it was hard to even meet up.
The more he thought about it, the worse his mood became. He索性 (suǒxìng – simply) put on a sour face. Seeing this, Sun Yuchen finally shut up.
Not far from them were Xia Qingqing and Huo Jingshu.
They were both members of the Special Operations Team now and often worked together, including on this operation.
“Jingshu, I heard Qingyi’s sister works inside this tomb. Too bad we can’t go in,” Xia Qingqing said dejectedly.
Huo Jingshu sighed. “Yeah, think of all the awesome fights we’re missing. Sigh!”
Xia Qingqing retorted, annoyed, “You’re a girl, why are you always thinking about fighting and killing?”
“What’s wrong with being a girl? My goal is to reach A-grade. How am I supposed to improve without fighting?”
“Fine, fine. Since you and Qingyi both aim to be strong, independent women, I guess I’ll just have to be the good, quiet girl all by myself,” Xia Qingqing said cutely.
Just then, the space beside the tombstone began to distort, gradually forming a vortex.
Wang Ye and the others, seeing this strange phenomenon, immediately grew vigilant and surrounded the vortex.
A’kun complained with a bitter face, “It’s not those aliens accidentally landing on Earth again, is it? Seriously, why do they always come to Jingcheng? Can’t they just… Huh? Elder Nan… Nani!? (Wait, what!?)”
His eyes widened as he stared at Nan Gongxuan emerging from the vortex, his face full of disbelief. “Is it the underworld gods and ghosts this time?”
“Underworld my ass, that’s Elder Nan Gong!” Shuaaai poked him and hurriedly greeted Nan Gongxuan.
Even though they didn’t know why he wasn’t dead, since he was here, greeting him was the right thing to do. Even if he was a ghost, maybe he’d let them off for being polite.
After all, you don’t hit someone who’s smiling… Surely Elder Nan Gong understood that logic even after death…
Nan Gongxuan nodded in acknowledgment and called into the vortex, “Come on through.”
Then, under the astonished gaze of the Special Operations Team, Su Mo stepped out of the vortex like a female lead from a novel, stunningly beautiful.
Perhaps he himself hadn’t noticed, but opening his second energy sea had slightly altered his appearance.
Needless to say, even more beautiful, but the key upgrade was in his aura.
Before, his beauty leaned more towards cute; now, there was an added trace of alluring charm.
To put it simply… he had a bit more of that mature, ‘onee-san’ vibe now.
The cute & mature big sis – Su Mo!
