Realizing she hadn’t regained any of her expended energy, Yan Qi, who had a rough idea why this was happening, muttered the words under her breath almost instinctively.
She then stopped using the Mermaid Princess’s skills. Seizing the moment while she had some free time, she stayed submerged in the park’s pond and opened her system panel to check out the other rewards she had gotten from this draw, aside from the transformation card.

After doing the math, Yan Qi found that the total EXP from all her cards, not counting the smaller digits, came to a whopping 260,000 points.
This was enough to raise the star rank of both of her current 6-star transformation cards and her one 5-star transformation card by one level each.
“So, which two 6-star cards should I upgrade?”
Yan Qi, who drew cards specifically to increase her power, began pondering this question seriously.
To handle the great dangers that might come in the future, she needed formidable strength. Therefore, she had to prioritize upgrading 6-star cards focused on offensive power.
But that didn’t mean she couldn’t upgrade a support-type 6-star card. After all, you need both legs to walk steadily.
Following this principle, and based on her understanding of her current cards, it didn’t take Yan Qi long to choose the two 6-star cards she would upgrade: the Daoist-Art Empress and the Digital Diva.
“It’s decided then. You two it is.”
Silently thinking this to herself, Yan Qi controlled the system and got to work.
She converted all her acquired EXP Cards into experience points and poured them into the Daoist-Art Empress and Digital Diva cards.
Instantly, the Daoist-Art Empress and Digital Diva, previously at 3 stars, smoothly advanced to 4 stars.

Seeing her two 6-star cards rise from 3 to 4 stars, knowing she would become a 4-star superhuman when transforming with them from now on, Yan Qi couldn’t help but break into a smile.
“This way, I’ll have much more confidence dealing with Abyssal Beasts, cultists, or other superhumans in the future.”
Thinking this to herself, pleased with the result, Yan Qi closed the system panel before her.
Feeling it was time to head home, she controlled her mermaid body and swam towards the lake shore not far away.
Soon, she emerged from the water, ready to get ashore, change her transformation to the Digital Diva, and return home via the internet.
But just then, Yan Qi suddenly heard sounds of struggle and threatening voices.
“What’s going on?”
Puzzled by these strange noises, Yan Qi temporarily shelved her plan to change forms and go home.
Instead, she manipulated the surrounding water, lifting her mermaid princess form up and floating towards the direction of the sounds.
“Stay still, or else I’ll kill you,” a sleazy man hissed impatiently, his hand clamped tightly over a woman’s mouth as he dragged her towards a nearby vehicle.
Hearing this, and knowing this kidnapper would surely kill her if she was taken, the woman refused to heed his warning. She continued struggling desperately, trying to break free from the man’s grasp.
Unfortunately, the vast difference in strength between them meant her struggles were largely ineffective.
“It’s already evening, but it’s still broad daylight. How dare this creep try to kidnap someone in the park at this hour? His nerve is unbelievable. I have to stop him.”
Hiding behind a tree, Yan Qi assessed the situation between the woman and the sleazy man, quickly figuring out what was happening. She certainly wasn’t going to stand by and let such a crime unfold before her eyes.
So, she immediately left her hiding spot behind the tree, stepping openly into the view of the sleazy man and the woman, and shouted loudly.
“You scoundrel! How dare you do something like this in broad daylight right in front of me! Let her go, now! Or else you’ll regret it!”
Hearing the shout from the figure who had just jumped out from behind a tree, the kidnapper was momentarily stunned. He then looked up towards Yan Qi’s location.
The woman he was kidnapping also turned her gaze towards Yan Qi.
Seeing Yan Qi with her beautiful, light blue long hair, wearing very scant clothing, possessing an extremely pretty face, and especially the colorful fish tail where her legs should be—
Both the sleazy man and the kidnapped woman, after expressions of shock, simultaneously recalled the information about Abyssal Beasts officially released just this month. Their faces promptly filled with terror.
“A monster! A monster from the Abyss has appeared! Help!”
Thinking the mermaid-princess-transformed Yan Qi was an Abyssal Beast that had crawled out from the abyss (shēnyuān – Abyss), the sleazy man screamed once, then released the woman he had been trying to kidnap, turned around, and tried to flee.
