Shaya’s disrespectful words made Ling Xiaoxiao almost lose her temper. But seeing Xue Ji still at the table, she forcibly held back to avoid damaging her image in Xue Ji’s eyes.
Even though she couldn’t erupt, how could Ling Xiaoxiao just let it go?
Her face turned cold, her eyes sharp as knives, piercing directly towards Shaya.
“If you like it, little fox, you can have more tonight~” Ling Xiaoxiao said with a fake smile, already declaring her method of revenge.
Shaya understood the hidden meaning in her words. Although she didn’t believe Ling Xiaoxiao would be that perverted, she really didn’t want a repeat performance.
To avoid further disgusting herself and ruining her appetite, Shaya had no choice but to back down.
“No need, I had enough barbecue last night. I couldn’t possibly let you spend money again.” Shaya, having learned quickly in human society, employed a tactic of yielding to gain advantage.
‘Besides, if I’m going to lick anyone, it should be Xue Ji’s,’ Shaya thought, her eyes drifting towards Xue Ji mid-sentence. ‘A-Ji’s must be soft and fragrant.’
Xue Ji inexplicably felt a chill run down her spine and looked at the two of them, bewildered.
‘What did those two do last night? Their relationship suddenly improved?’
Shaya’s gaze met Xue Ji’s, and she suddenly let out a weird, silly giggle, as if struck by a sudden fit.
Ling Xiaoxiao seemed to guess Shaya’s thoughts, and a novel impulse welled up inside her.
The way she looked at Xue Ji also became strange, seeming somewhat guilty, as she avoided meeting Xue Ji’s eyes, her own gaze darting around.
Seeing the two of them acting so bizarrely, Xue Ji quickly finished her breakfast and left directly.
Their suggestive stares made her uneasy; she was afraid that if she kept eating, she might become the “main course.”
As soon as Xue Ji left, the atmosphere between Ling Xiaoxiao and Shaya became tense and confrontational.
Ling Xiaoxiao stood up, crossing her arms, looking down at Shaya with the detached calm of a grandmaster.
Not to be outdone, Shaya stepped onto her chair, standing on her tiptoes to stubbornly meet Ling Xiaoxiao’s gaze at eye level.
“Little one, I advise you not to bring trouble upon yourself.”
“A-Ji isn’t yours yet. You’re the one who shouldn’t be so presumptuous.”
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll turn against you?” Ling Xiaoxiao was amused by her anger. This girl really thought she was somebody.
“I am afraid. You are really strong, formidably so.” Shaya didn’t stubbornly deny it. Remembering their last encounter still made her backside ache faintly.
But no matter how scared she was, she couldn’t back down. She absolutely could not let Xue Ji fall into Ling Xiaoxiao’s hands.
If she conceded here, A-Ji would be bullied by this madwoman for the rest of her life, living a miserable existence where she couldn’t win a fight nor escape, left to wipe her tears alone by the window.
That’s how it always played out in TV dramas. Shaya didn’t dare imagine how the gentle and delicate Xue Ji would suffer if bullied.
Thinking this, she mustered her courage and, under Ling Xiaoxiao’s murderous gaze, declared: “I won’t let you bully her.”
“And if I do bully her?” Ling Xiaoxiao replied dismissively.
“Then I’ll eat you!” Shaya’s courage peaked, successfully issuing a warning to the demon-god-like Ling Xiaoxiao.
Ling Xiaoxiao paid no mind to Shaya’s fierce expression and said quietly, “What if she’s willing herself?”
“What reason would you have to stop it then?”
“Do you even know what her true wishes are?”
Shaya was left speechless by her questions.
“I… I…” The more she couldn’t get the words out, the more flustered she became, and the more flustered she became, the less she could speak.
Seeing her utterly non-threatening state, Ling Xiaoxiao smirked seductively.
“Thinking about it now, you don’t even have the qualifications to be my opponent.”
Leaving those words behind, Ling Xiaoxiao turned and left without looking back, leaving Shaya standing alone on the chair.
Furious and anxious, Shaya stomped her feet on the chair.
“Dammit! I lost again.”
Ling Xiaoxiao’s figure disappeared from Shaya’s view, like an existence she could scarcely hope to match even in a lifetime.
But would she admit defeat just like that?
Absolutely not.
“I will win next time!” Shaya declared ambitiously, voicing her certain victory resolve.
…
The outcome of the rivalry between Ling Xiaoxiao and Shaya was still a matter for the distant future, but the events at Song Liangpeng’s home were already beginning to take shape.
Ling Xiaoxiao was taking Xue Ji and Shaya out. Wanting to show off in front of Shaya, she specially brought them to the garage to choose a car.
Xue Ji was shocked speechless by the cars in Ling Xiaoxiao’s garage.
It wasn’t because there were too many luxury cars to take in – she herself didn’t know much about cars. In her eyes, cars only came in two types: cheap and expensive. Asking her to identify specific models was asking too much. She knew at a glance that she couldn’t afford any random car here.
But what shocked Xue Ji wasn’t the cars themselves, but what Ling Xiaoxiao had done to them.
The cars in Ling Xiaoxiao’s garage weren’t ordinary luxury cars or supercars. Upon closer inspection, one could see a faint golden light shimmering over each vehicle.
This person had refined dozens of cars into magical artifacts, truly broadening Xue Ji’s horizons.
Ling Xiaoxiao placed a hand on Xue Ji’s shoulder, her voice tinged with unconcealed delight.
“Xiao Ji, which one do you like? I’ll drive whichever one you pick.”
Xue Ji felt flattered and overwhelmed by the favor, and asked again to confirm, “You’re really letting me choose?”
“Of course. Shaya doesn’t have any objections either, right?” Ling Xiaoxiao suddenly shifted the focus, pulling Shaya into the conversation.
“I do have an objection!” Shaya braced herself and objected.
“I suggest… riding me there.” As she now possessed a human sense of shame, her voice grew softer and softer as she spoke.
Hearing this, Ling Xiaoxiao was inwardly overjoyed, her voice trembling slightly as she said, “Child, that’s not a good joke.”
Xue Ji, however, didn’t seem to find it strange. Instead, she gently patted Shaya’s head and patiently explained, “Shaya, human society isn’t ready for your true form to go running through the streets yet.”
“I… I see…” She felt like she had made a huge fool of herself.
“Then I’ll choose,” Xue Ji said enthusiastically.
Witnessing the head-patting scene, Ling Xiaoxiao felt her previous victory was meaningless.
‘Hmph, that little vixen really has some tricks up her sleeve.’
Seeing Xue Ji looking at her with a hint of expectation on her face, Shaya could only nod, pouting and mumbling, “It’s not like they’re my cars anyway, why ask me?”
Xue Ji activated her spiritual sight, scanning the arrays on the several dozen cars.
She could tell some were reinforced for defense, others had various offensive arrays; many cars were specialized types.
There was a Wuling Hongguang in the corner, fitted with teleportation and spatial arrays. It truly lived up to the meme of a minivan capable of holding an entire army.
She also noticed the garage held quite a random assortment: tractors, bicycles, electric scooters, motorcycles – you name it.
Truthfully, Xue Ji really wanted to choose that tractor. It had the effect of shrinking distances to mere steps. Imagine using it to show up all the supercars on the street – what would those drivers think?
However, the idea was too outrageous. Considering their image, Xue Ji settled on a relatively inexpensive-looking sports car that had a flight array attached to it.
“This one? Why? Do you want to drive a flying car?” Ling Xiaoxiao asked curiously.
“Mm, traffic is bad in the mornings. It’s better to fly there.”
Thinking it over seriously, Ling Xiaoxiao said, “Then, do you want to ride…”
“No!” Xue Ji immediately rejected Ling Xiaoxiao’s suggestion, already guessing what she was about to say.
