Soul Exchange: This School Beauty Isn’t So Cold Chapter 254

Both Dash and Menghou were already injured, leaving only Su Mo in relatively better condition.

Before they could even catch their breath, a sinister chuckle echoed from deep within the passageway: “Kekeke… I never expected to find a human with such a potent bloodline. I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”

That laughter seemed to possess a magical quality. After hearing it, Su Mo felt his blood surge as if injected with adrenaline. He began to lose control of himself.

This situation was somewhat similar to the experience at the Longshan Ruins; it seemed capable of manipulating people’s emotions and thoughts.

Unwilling to be controlled, a tempest immediately raged within Su Mo’s second energy sea. Yin fire erupted from within him, coating his body’s surface.

Simultaneously, his mind cleared considerably.

He looked up to see a humanoid creature: a single eye, long arms, and a human-like body.

It was identical to the robots from before.

“Excellent. To break free from my mental control so quickly—truly worthy of a high-grade bloodline individual,” the one-eyed being said with an appreciative tone.

“Who are you?” Su Mo asked, fighting off a wave of dizziness.

The one-eyed being didn’t answer. Instead, it cast a disdainful glance at the unconscious Menghou and Dasha on the ground: “They possess powerful bodies, but their spiritual power is pathetically weak. Lab specimens really can’t compare to natural talents.”

His words carried significant implications, which Su Mo firmly committed to memory.

The one-eyed being looked at Su Mo. “Don’t worry. I’ll tell you everything you want to know in a moment, as long as you cooperate obediently.”

Su Mo remained silent.

The one-eyed being waved a hand. Immediately, fully armed soldiers came and dragged away Dash and Menghou, while others surrounded Su Mo.

“For confidentiality, I need to blindfold you,” the one-eyed being said with a smile, his tone conversational.

Yet, it was precisely this polite demeanor that instilled a deep-seated fear in Su Mo.

It was the first time he had ever been so afraid of someone—a fear that came from the very core of his being.

It wasn’t just due to the opponent’s strength, but also the mental suppression and influence.

After a moment’s thought, Su Mo understood that given the current situation, he had no choice but to yield. Resisting would lead to no good outcome. So, he nodded and conceded, “Alright.”

A soldier used a black cloth to blindfold him, wrapping it around layer after layer until he could see nothing.

Someone then tried to take the opportunity to bind his hands, but Su Mo’s expression immediately darkened. “If you go too far, I won’t mind perishing together with all of you.”

His tone was filled with grim determination. Even the one-eyed being found it hard to discern if it was a bluff. He chuckled, “The underlings don’t know any better. Don’t mind them.”

Su Mo snorted coldly. Surrounded by soldiers, he followed the one-eyed being towards their destination.

He lost track of how many turns they took or how far they walked, only knowing it was a very long time.

Finally, he sensed the one-eyed being ahead come to a stop, so he halted as well.

“Alright, you can remove it now.”

Before anyone could step forward, Su Mo tore off the blindfold himself. He found himself in a laboratory.

To be precise, it was a biological laboratory.

There were many containers in the lab, with various animal corpses—including humans—preserved in nutrient fluid.

Su Mo frowned and shifted his gaze elsewhere. “You brought me here not to tell me I’ll be lying in one of those, right?”

The one-eyed being smiled. “Of course not. Those lying inside are all lower species with inferior bloodlines. You’re different. You are the highest-grade bloodline I’ve encountered on Earth.”

“Then why did you bring me here?”

“I want three drops of your blood.”

“That’s it?”

“That’s it.”

“You could have said so earlier. Making such a grand production of escorting me here, I thought I was going to become a specimen.” As he spoke, he let out a sigh of relief, though inwardly he remained cautious and never let his guard down.

“Well, your strength is so formidable. I was just taking precautions,” the one-eyed being said, grinning.

Su Mo certainly didn’t believe his nonsense, but he pretended to cooperate. “Fine. Just three drops of blood, I can afford that. But you must guarantee that my friends and I can leave here safely.”

“Naturally,” the one-eyed being promised verbally.

“I need to see they’re unharmed first.”

Soon, Dash and Menghou were brought before Su Mo. They were both awake, and their injuries had been properly treated.

Without another word, Su Mo used his fingernail to prick his finger, offering three drops of blood to the one-eyed being.

Upon receiving the blood, the one-eyed being beamed with delight, carefully examining it as if searching for something within.

Ultimately finding nothing out of the ordinary, he finally waved to the soldiers under his command. “Take them away.”

Their eyes were blindfolded again. As they walked, Su Mo’s brow furrowed tightly. He suddenly paused, his voice cold. “This isn’t the way back!”

Though he couldn’t see, the path they came by didn’t have the scent of medicine. Yet on the way back, a strong medicinal aroma drifted into his nostrils.

No one responded.

Just moments ago, a group of people had been walking beside him. Now, Su Mo couldn’t hear their breathing.

He tore off the blindfold. There was no one else around; Dash and Menghou were also nowhere to be seen.

He found himself in a dimly lit space. Like before, it was also a laboratory. However, unlike the previous one filled with English, this place had a strong Xia Country aesthetic.

Turning around, he saw the lab even had a traditional central scroll hanging inside.

Honestly, what kind of laboratory hangs a central scroll?!

It seemed the people here were the ones who had “taught” Dash and the others Chinese.

Su Mo wandered around the lab and found the instruments and equipment here were extremely advanced. Though unfamiliar, they looked highly sophisticated.

The most eye-catching object in the lab was undoubtedly a surgical bed fitted with numerous mechanical arms. Su Mo approached the bed and saw it was densely covered in English lettering. He knew this was Earth’s handiwork.

If that was the case, then the existence of this place should be known to people from quite a few countries.

As he was speculating, the sound of footsteps suddenly came from outside the door.

The moment he turned, the door was pushed open. An older Asian man with graying hair walked in. He wore a white lab coat and was followed by a young man in his twenties.

“Xiao Hao, go prepare the surgical supplies.” The young man behind him acknowledged the order and began preparing in the lab.

The doctor approached Su Mo. “Hello, my surname is Luo. You may call me Doctor.”

A flicker passed through Su Mo’s eyes, but his expression remained neutral. “Hello, Lin Qianye.”

The doctor looked him up and down, nodding with satisfaction. “You’re the first specimen to walk into this place on your own, and also the one with the highest bloodline grade.”

Su Mo felt that the man calling himself ‘Doctor’ spoke with little emotional fluctuation in his eyes—like a dead person. Yet, he unmistakably had the heartbeat and breath of a living being.

“Who are you? Where is this? What do you mean by ‘specimen’?” Su Mo was full of doubts, momentarily unsure which question to ask first.

The doctor pondered for two seconds, then suddenly asked, “How is the outside world?”

Su Mo was taken aback. The way he said it made it seem as if he hadn’t left this place for a very long time.

Suddenly, a shocking thought struck him, forming a guess.

Could this be an overseas human organ trafficking base? Not only were there extraterrestrial beings from other worlds involved, but also top scientists from around the globe.

Forced to work here day and night, unable to return home…
