“Head-to-head?”
Hearing Daoyan’s reply, both Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng couldn’t help but show puzzled expressions on their faces, speaking the same words in unison.
Hearing this, and knowing they weren’t very clear about her method of imparting cultivation techniques, Daoyan patiently began to explain it to them.
As the explanation deepened, Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng finally understood what Daoyan meant by “head-to-head.”
“So, Miss Daoyan, you can directly transmit cultivation techniques into someone’s mind through a head-to-head touch,” Yan Zhenyi said, looking at Daoyan sitting on the opposite sofa.
Hearing this, Daoyan nodded and replied in a confirming tone, “Yes, that’s exactly what I meant by head-to-head. So, Mr. Yan and Mrs. Li, which of you would like to go first and touch heads with me?”
Hearing Daoyan’s words, Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng glanced at each other. After confirming each other’s intentions with a look, Li Caifeng spoke up first, “In that case, let me go first. After all, I’m very curious about supernatural powers.”
Hearing Li Caifeng’s words and knowing she wasn’t opposed to becoming a superhuman, Daoyan smiled and said to her, “Alright, I understand.”
After speaking, Daoyan stood up from the sofa, walked over to Li Caifeng, bent down, and touched heads with her, transmitting the cultivation technique into her mind.
“How is it, Mrs. Li? You should now be able to clearly remember the cultivation technique I transmitted into your mind, right?” Daoyan straightened up, looking down at Li Caifeng with a concerned tone.
After carefully reviewing the cultivation technique Daoyan had transmitted into her mind and confirming she had memorized all of it, Li Caifeng nodded to Daoyan and replied, “I can indeed clearly remember the cultivation technique you transmitted into my mind. Thank you, Miss Daoyan, for being willing to share such a precious thing with me.”
“It’s nothing. Now, it’s your turn, Mr. Yan,” Daoyan said, shifting her gaze to Yan Zhenyi after confirming her mother had fully received the cultivation technique.
“Alright, thank you for your trouble, Miss Daoyan,” Yan Zhenyi replied. Having experienced several supernatural-related incidents, he deeply understood that as an ordinary person, he was powerless to protect his family, friends, and the people of Fangfeng City in this world where supernatural powers were constantly emerging.
Hearing the firmness in her father’s words and understanding why he felt that way, Daoyan didn’t say much more. Instead, she quickly walked over to him and, just as she had done with her mother, transmitted the cultivation technique into his mind.
“Alright, that’s half the task completed. Now, could I trouble both Mr. Yan and Mrs. Li to try practicing the cultivation technique I gave you? This way, if there are any issues, I can help you resolve them now,” Daoyan said, knowing that merely transmitting the technique wouldn’t allow them to quickly grasp the essentials of cultivation.
Hearing Daoyan’s suggestion, neither Yan Zhenyi nor Li Caifeng hesitated. They quickly nodded at each other and, under Daoyan’s instruction, turned off the TV, sat casually on their living room sofa, and began silently circulating the cultivation technique, drawing in the surrounding spiritual energy.
Seeing her parents had started cultivating, Daoyan said nothing more and simply stood quietly in place, waiting for them to finish.
Thus, under Daoyan’s guidance, after several failed attempts and about ten minutes, Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng finally managed to form a spiritual energy vortex and soon immersed themselves in cultivation.
Over two hours passed. As the spiritual energy vortex dissipated, Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng almost simultaneously ended their first cultivation session, opening their eyes.
“So this is cultivation? It truly is a unique experience,” Li Caifeng said, lifting her hands and feeling the power emanating from her body.
“Yes, cultivation does feel very special. Moreover, the passage of time we perceive during this process is distinctly different from the actual passage of time,” Yan Zhenyi agreed, also noticing the time displayed on the wall clock in the living room.
Hearing this, Li Caifeng paused for a moment before quickly turning her gaze to the wall clock. When she saw the time displayed, her face immediately showed surprise. “It’s almost 5 PM already? I clearly remember we started cultivating around 2 PM.”
“That’s why I said the actual passage of time is much faster than what we perceive during cultivation,” Yan Zhenyi emphasized again.
“Mr. Yan, Mrs. Li, do either of you still have any questions about cultivation?” Daoyan asked, stepping forward after her parents had fallen silent.
“Um…” Hearing Daoyan’s voice, the two carefully recalled their experience and, after exchanging a glance, looked up and shook their heads in unison. “We don’t have any more questions.”
Receiving her parents’ response and confirming they weren’t lying, Daoyan said, “Since neither of you has any further questions, please continue practicing according to the cultivation technique I’ve imparted to you. I believe it won’t be long before you too can become superhumans capable of protecting yourselves and your family.”
After saying this, and knowing there was no need to stay any longer, Daoyan paused for a moment before adding, “Well, now that I’ve taken care of things here, it’s time for me to leave. We’ll meet again when the opportunity arises.”
