Soul Exchange: This School Beauty Isn’t So Cold Chapter 72

The First Law of the Big Dipper Code: Obey superior orders!

Wang Erhu stiffened like he’d been struck by lightning—so violently that he nearly sent his girlfriend flying.

“Y-You… who are you?”

Su Mo flashed her credentials in front of his face. “What do you think?”

A team leader? Or even a special operations member?!

Wang Erhu’s mind went numb. He never expected to provoke someone so far above his pay grade.

“Answer me. What is the 17th law of the Big Dipper Code?” Su Mo pressed, leaving no room for evasion.

Realizing Su Mo outranked her boyfriend, the red-dressed woman abruptly stopped crying and lunged for the credentials. “How do we know those are real? Erhu, don’t be fooled—she could be faking it!”

Wang Erhu gritted his teeth and barked, “Shut your mouth!”

The woman froze. “Wang Erhu… you’ve never yelled at me before. Not even when I hit you. And now… you’re raising your voice for another woman?!”

His expression twisted in conflict, but his posture remained rigid as he recited loudly: “Big Dipper Code, Article 17: Those who insult heroes shall be severely punished. Repeat offenders face maximum penalties!”

Su Mo nodded in approval, her gaze sweeping the crowd. Everyone instinctively averted their eyes.

“Handle this by the book. Pull the restaurant’s surveillance—leave no one out.” She turned to Xiao He. “Lend me your phone.”

Xiao He handed it over without hesitation.

Su Mo briefed Yang He on the situation, ensuring no one could sweep this under the rug through backdoor dealings. Yang He gave an immediate guarantee.

As Wang Erhu hauled away the two instigators, the rest of the crowd tried to slip out—most had some influence, but not enough to challenge the Big Dipper.

Then, Yin Yan-yan’s brother spoke up: “Everyone, please remain calm. My father has a few words to say.”

The crowd halted, turning toward a distinguished man who looked no older than his forties—clearly the head of the Yin family.

“My apologies for this incident. It seems some troublemakers slipped in, disrespecting our heroes.” He swiftly aligned himself with Su Mo before addressing the room. “I suggest we all stay and cooperate with the Big Dipper’s investigation. Once the culprits are identified, you may leave.”

With the Yin family patriarch’s endorsement, no one dared object. They waited in uneasy silence.

“Thank you.”

Regardless of his motives, the Yin family’s intervention had helped.

Yin Yan-yan’s brother approached Su Mo, extending a hand. “Yin Chang. Pleasure to meet you.”

Su Mo shook it briefly. “Ye Qing Yi.”

Yin Chang instructed his sister to properly host Su Mo and Xiao He while he personally coordinated with the restaurant manager for surveillance footage. Though phrased as a discussion, the manager fell over himself to comply the moment he heard the Big Dipper was involved.

“Of course, right away!”

The Big Dipper’s efficiency lived up to its reputation. In under ten minutes, Old Han arrived with a team. Seeing the crowd of wealthy socialites waiting obediently, he shot Su Mo an impressed thumbs-up.

In the end, everyone who had insulted Xiao He’s brother was taken in—regardless of status or age. Without Su Mo’s intervention, many might have dismissed the severity of their words. But she refused to let it slide.

Xiao He stared at Su Mo with gratitude, speechless.

In that moment, she knew—Su Mo was a true friend.

Of course, the Yin family’s cooperation had been crucial. Without their support, things would’ve been far messier.

As Old Han’s team left and Su Mo prepared to depart with a still-somber Xiao He, the Yin patriarch called out:

“Young lady, if I’m not mistaken, you must be the heiress of the Ye family in Jiangcheng.”

Only the Yin family and the two girls remained now.

Xiao He gaped at Su Mo’s profile, bewildered.

Why are all my friends secretly VIPs?!

“Correct. Ye Qing Yu is my sister.” Su Mo wasn’t surprised he knew.

The Yin patriarch’s eyes gleamed. “I thought so. Your boldness mirrors hers—straightforward and unyielding.”

Su Mo didn’t deny it. “She’s the standard I strive for. I’m not yet on her level.”

Truthfully, she still had no idea what Ye Qing Yu actually did. Her sister’s visits were always fleeting, her demeanor hinting at missions she might not return from. Sometimes Su Mo wondered if she was exploring ancient ruins—a B-rank powerhouse with a Ph.D. in archaeology practically screamed “elite tomb raider”.

Wait, no. “Archaeological researcher.”

The Yin patriarch’s real motive was networking—though how genuine his intentions were remained unclear. Meanwhile, Yin Chang and Yin Yan-yan exchanged odd glances.

Logically, they should’ve been the ones befriending Su Mo, given their similar ages. Yet here was their father, taking the initiative.

What even was this?

Some kind of ageless friendship?

…Except he’s not that old, Yin Yan-yan mused, pursing her lips.

Yin Chang, however, kept stealing glances at Su Mo, his lips quirking uncontrollably.

She’s so beautiful…

By the time they left Orchid Pavilion, it was past 10 PM. Declining Yin Chang’s offer for a ride, they hailed a taxi instead.

Yin Yan-yan studied her brother’s dazed expression, instincts tingling. What’s up with him today? He’s acting so distracted.

Women’s intuition spanned all ages—and hers was blaring alarms.

Even after the taxi vanished, Yin Chang remained rooted in place, staring at the empty road.

Yin Yan-yan sidled up with a mischievous grin. “Sooo… which one do you like? Want me to play matchmaker?”

He snapped out of it, shooting her a half-hearted glare. “What ‘which one’? They’re already gone—”

“Pfft.” Undeterred, she clung to his arm, swinging it playfully. “I don’t care! All my friends have sisters-in-law. I want one too!”

What kind of logic is that?!

Sisters-in-law weren’t dumplings—you couldn’t just order one.

“Stop messing around.” He tried for authority, but it came out embarrassingly soft.

“Fine, if you’re too shy, I’ll pick for you!” She tapped her chin dramatically before gasping. “Xiao He’s my bestie—too awkward if she became family. So Ye Qing Yi it is! You two would look perfect together.”

She peeked at his reaction.

Sure enough, he smiled.

Hehe. Who knows you better than your dear sister?
