Gender Swap: I’m About to Transform Using a Card! Chapter 120

“That makes sense.”

Yan Yu couldn’t think of a better explanation than Yan Qi’s, so she simply nodded in agreement.

Without another word to her sister, Yan Qi ignored the unconscious cultist on the ground for now and turned her attention to the bisected Flesh Flower. Though it had lost its ability to control the Abyssal Beasts, it wasn’t completely dead yet.

Without hesitation, she summoned Samadhi Truefire, reducing the grotesque bloom to ashes in an instant.

While Yan Qi incinerated the Flesh Flower, Yan Yu wasn’t idle either. Following their usual protocol, she quickly notified the Special Affairs Bureau, briefing them on the situation so they could handle the cleanup.

Once certain the Flesh Flower was thoroughly destroyed, Yan Qi turned to Yan Yu, who had just put away her phone.

“Let’s move to the next location. These cultists are already infiltrating the black barriers. If we don’t hurry and eliminate more Flesh Flowers, things are going to get very messy.”

Yan Yu understood perfectly and nodded.

“Yeah, I know.”

After their brief exchange, the two sisters left the crumbling black barrier and headed toward their next target.

…..

While the Special Affairs Bureau agents in Ninghang City battled the frenzied cultists, and the Yan sisters worked to destroy the Flesh Flowers, Wen Ning—the benevolent-faced chief surgeon of Ninghang First Hospital and secretly the Bishop of the Plague Cult—had already slipped past the Bureau’s blockade.

He now stood in the most critical black barrier, where the sacrificial ritual’s final stage would take place.

“Bishop, you’ve arrived.”

The cultist guarding the area immediately recognized Wen Ning and hurried forward, bowing deeply.

Ignoring the formalities, Wen Ning cut straight to the point.

“What’s the current status? How many Flesh Flowers have been accelerated?”

The cultist hesitated but dared not lie.

“Bishop… the situation isn’t ideal. Only three Flesh Flowers have been successfully matured.”

Only three?!” Wen Ning’s expression darkened. “Why so few?”

“The Bureau’s blockade is too tight. Our brothers and sisters have struggled to infiltrate the barriers and carry out your orders.”

Wen Ning’s face twisted in fury. He had personally experienced the Bureau’s relentless resistance when crossing the perimeter.

“Damn the Bureau! One day, I’ll make them pay for this!”

After venting his rage, he forced himself to calm down. Now wasn’t the time for anger.

Pulling out a compass from his robes—one that displayed the locations of their remaining Flesh Flowers—he checked the readings. His expression grew even grimmer when he saw only thirteen red dots left.

“Do we know who is destroying our Flesh Flowers?”

The cultist broke into a cold sweat.

“W-We’re not entirely sure, Bishop…”

You don’t know?!” Wen Ning’s voice dripped with venom. “Useless!

“P-Please forgive me, Bishop!” The cultist dropped to his knees, trembling.

Wen Ning’s fingers twitched with the urge to strike him down. But with so few capable subordinates left, he swallowed his rage.

“Get up,” he snapped. “I’ll spare you—but you will guard this place with your life. Even if you die, no one touches the Flesh Flower here. Understood?”

The cultist kowtowed in relief.

“Y-Yes, Bishop! I swear on my life!”

Dismissing him, Wen Ning focused on the compass again, analyzing the order in which the red dots had vanished.

“They’re moving systematically—destroying one, then heading straight for the nearest next target… Clever.”

A cold smirk curled his lips as he deduced their pattern.

“Very well. If they want to play hunters, then let the Bishop of the Plague Cult personally greet them.”

“I’m leaving for now,” he said aloud. “Remember my orders.”

“Of course, Bishop!”

With that, Wen Ning stepped out of the black barrier and back into the real world.

He checked the special incubation vial hidden in his robes, ensuring its contents were battle-ready. Then, locking onto the sisters’ next likely destination, he activated his supernatural abilities—vanishing in a blur of speed no ordinary human could match.

…..

With a crackling bolt of lightning, Yan Qi finished off the last two-star Abyssal Beast, her movements perfectly synchronized with Yan Yu’s.

Now, only the severely weakened Flesh Flower remained.

“Yan Yu, rest here for a bit. I’ll handle the Flesh Flower, then we’ll move to the next spot.”

Though physically drained from the nonstop fighting, Yan Yu nodded.

“Got it.”

With her sister’s acknowledgment, Yan Qi leapt into the air, darting toward the Flesh Flower—

Unaware that the Bishop was already closing in.
