“Very good. You’ve got guts, man. But men with guts who stand before me always end up miserable.”
After saying this to Yan Zhenyi with a sneer, the Scarred Priest didn’t hesitate any longer. He activated his supernatural power, controlling the liquefied cement to surge toward him.
Seeing the liquefied cement rushing at him, Yan Zhenyi knew immediately that the other man intended to kill him.
Aware that his wife was still behind him, Yan Zhenyi didn’t think twice. He shoved her out of the way.
“Honey!”
Pushed aside by her husband, Li Caifeng understood exactly what he was trying to do. Her face filled with terror as she screamed her husband’s name.
In response to his wife’s cries, Yan Zhenyi said nothing. He just looked at her and offered an apologetic smile.
Just as Yan Zhenyi was about to be killed by the Scarred Priest’s supernatural power…
A pink silhouette suddenly burst through the private room’s doorway, launching an attack directly at the Scarred Priest.
Sensing the imminent lethal threat, the Scarred Priest, who had been moments from killing Yan Zhenyi, immediately abandoned his action.
He hurriedly controlled the liquefied cement around him, forming a hard shield over his body, barely managing to block the pink figure’s attack.
Seeing the sturdy cement shield covering the Scarred Priest, the attacker knew destroying it would be easy with her strength.
But remembering her parents were still in the room, and worried that a full-out fight in the cramped space might endanger them, Yan Qi—who had transformed into the Little Succubus Queen—halted her assault.
Instead, she created some distance and positioned herself protectively in front of her mom and dad.
“Dammit, who are you?!”
Having just barely blocked Yan Qi’s attack, and feeling humiliated by the struggle, the Scarred Priest immediately turned his glare towards her, now in her Little Succubus Queen form.
Taking in Yan Qi’s full appearance, the Scarred Priest looked momentarily stunned. But, recalling her sneak attack, his expression quickly turned hostile.
“Who am I?” Yan Qi replied calmly, giving her demon tail and small wings a slight flick. Her outfit was decidedly skimpy. “I’m a member of the Free Life Association.”
“Free Life Association? What in the world is that?”
Unfamiliar with the organization, the Scarred Priest frowned, uttering his confusion with a puzzled tone.
He soon shook his head, deciding not to dwell on the meaningless question. His expression hardened into a vicious glare as he focused on Yan Qi, whom he perceived as weaker.
“I don’t care what association you’re from. You dared to interfere with our business today, so don’t even think about leaving this place alive. Take this!”
Finished speaking, the Scarred Priest manipulated the cement around him, turning it liquid again, and launched it at Yan Qi in various shapes, almost completely blocking her escape routes.
As a peak three-star supernatural, Yan Qi had no intention of waiting helplessly for the attack.
Using her innate gift of immense strength, Yan Qi stomped down hard on the floor beneath her.
The floorboards shattered instantly. Utilizing her small stature, she quickly slipped through the hole she’d created, dropping down to the floor below and neatly evading the Scarred Priest’s assault.
“Is that all you’ve got, you old fossil?!”
Now safely on the first floor, Yan Qi taunted the Scarred Priest through the now Swiss-cheese-like ceiling of the private room.
Hearing this, the extremely prideful Scarred Priest couldn’t tolerate such an insult.
“You two, take Bai Yuling away. I’m going after that damn little girl dressed like she’s at the beach downstairs,” he barked at the followers he’d brought along, his voice boiling with rage.
After issuing the orders, the furious Scarred Priest used his power to liquefy the cement at his feet and dropped down to pursue Yan Qi.
Watching the Scarred Priest chase after Yan Qi, the woman who had quietly distanced herself from him earlier finally snapped out of her daze. She, too, had been captivated by the astonishing charm of the transformed Little Succubus Queen upon seeing her.
Noticing that the two New Cult members flanking Bai Yuling were also staring blankly, entranced just as she had been, the woman cleared her throat to get their attention.
“Stop daydreaming and get moving! If the Priest comes back and Bai Yuling is still here, you two are finished!”
“Sorry, Sister Xu. We were just… shocked by the fight, that’s all,” one stammered.
“Yeah, yeah! We definitely weren’t spacing out because that pink-haired girl was too cute and mesmerizing… Ow! Why did you pinch me?!”
“Maybe think about what you’re actually saying,” the first member hissed.
Hearing the new members’ conversation, the woman named Xu quickly cleared her throat again. “Enough nonsense. Hurry up.”
“Right, Sister Xu. But… what should we do with these two?” one new member asked, pointing towards Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng.
Sister Xu glanced at Yan Zhenyi, who was now being helped to his feet by his wife. Remembering he had already offended the Scarred Priest, and knowing the Priest would not let them live if he found them, she answered coldly.
“Kill them, of course. I have no desire to anger the Scarred Priest.”
“Should we handle it?”
“You two are all thumbs. I’ll do it myself to save time,” Sister Xu said dismissively, pulling out a dagger to deal with Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifung herself.
Bai Yuling, her body bound by cement hardened by the Priest’s power—a situation her own abilities struggled against—shouted a warning to the couple.
“Caifeng! Run! These people are going to harm you!”
Hearing Bai Yuling’s cry, both Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng realized the grave danger they were in.
“Bai Yuling, your warnings are useless now,” Sister Xu said coldly.
She prepared to leap across the hole-riddled floor to reach and kill Yan Zhenyi and Li Caifeng.
But at that very moment, a cloud of purple smoke suddenly billowed in through the destroyed doorway, instantly enveloping Sister Xu and the two new cult members.
