After entering the Hot Pot Food City, Yan Qi quickly arrived at her class’s private room under Hu Mengqing’s guidance.
The classmates who had arrived early and were chatting and laughing with their close friends and buddies turned their attention to the door when they heard it open, their eyes landing on Hu Mengqing and Yan Qi as they entered.
Almost immediately, expressions of astonishment appeared on their faces. After all, Yan Qi, who had put effort into her appearance, looked incredibly beautiful, even though she hadn’t fully grown up yet.
“Hey, Monitor, who’s the little beauty next to you? Is she your sister?” Liu Sheng, failing to recognize Yan Qi at first glance and mistaking her for Hu Mengqing’s sister, asked this.
“Monitor, Liu Sheng said I look like your sister. Does he really think we look that alike?” Hearing Liu Sheng’s words, Yan Qi couldn’t help but smirk, quietly asking Hu Mengqing beside her.
Knowing full well that she and Yan Qi didn’t look the least bit similar, Hu Mengqing played along. “Well, in Classmate Liu Sheng’s eyes, we must look quite alike. Otherwise, why would he say something like that?”
Hearing the exchange between Yan Qi and Hu Mengqing, Liu Sheng looked puzzled for a moment, then said to Hu Mengqing, “Monitor, I get the feeling you and your ‘sister’ are subtly making fun of me.”
“Are we making fun of you?” Hearing this, Liu Sheng thought for a moment, then nodded. “Yes, you definitely are. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have that look on your faces.”
At this, Hu Mengqing suppressed a laugh and said to Liu Sheng, “Alright, Liu Sheng, do you really not recognize this petite girl standing next to me?”
Hearing this, Liu Sheng’s gaze returned to Yan Qi. But without seeing her signature white hair and crimson eyes, he simply couldn’t recognize the person standing beside Hu Mengqing.
“Sorry, Monitor, I really don’t know this petite girl. Who is she? Isn’t she your sister?”
“Of course she’s not my sister. Xiao Qi, take off your hat and sunglasses. If this goes on, soon everyone will mistake you for my little sister.”
Hearing Hu Mengqing’s words and noticing the confused looks on everyone’s faces in the room, Yan Qi knew that not revealing her identity would only cause more confusion. She quickly took off her sun hat and sunglasses, revealing her beautiful silver-white long hair and blood-red pupils to everyone.
“So? Now you should all recognize me, right?”
Hearing Yan Qi’s voice and seeing her signature white hair and crimson eyes, everyone present—all her high school classmates—immediately recognized her.
“Oh, it’s Classmate Yan Qi!”
“So it really is her! I thought I was mistaken earlier.”
“I never expected her to dress up so beautifully today. No wonder I didn’t recognize her.”
“Classmate Xiao Qi is so pretty. In a few years when she grows up a bit more, who knows how many men will be head over heels for her.”
“And why not women? I really like such a cute girl too.”
Listening to the various comments from her classmates after they recognized her, the curve of Yan Qi’s smile became more pronounced. However, finding the noisy atmosphere a bit unpleasant, she addressed everyone present:
“Alright, classmates, I know you’re excited and thrilled to see me, but I’m not really fond of such a loud and noisy environment. So, could you all please tone it down a little?”
Hearing Yan Qi’s request, her classmates quickly lowered their voices, no longer being as boisterous as before.
“Alright, Monitor, how long are you going to have me stand here? Hurry up and show me to my seat.” Having settled her classmates, Yan Qi looked at Hu Mengqing beside her and deliberately spoke with a slightly displeased tone.
Hearing this, Hu Mengqing remembered she hadn’t seated Yan Qi yet and replied apologetically, “I’m so sorry, Xiao Qi. Let me take you to your seat right now.”
After saying this, Hu Mengqing quickly led Yan Qi to a spot next to her own seat and had her sit in the adjacent chair.
Seeing this, Yan Qi had no reason to refuse and promptly sat down in the chair next to Hu Mengqing’s.
“Hmm, this feels a bit inconvenient.” Looking at the dining table that reached chest-level, Yan Qi, who had just sat down, could already imagine how awkward eating would be.
Noticing the change in Yan Qi’s expression and seeing the table’s height relative to her, Hu Mengqing quickly guessed what was troubling her.
“Xiao Qi, do you want me to go find a few books for you to sit on?” As the class monitor, feeling obligated to help her solve problems, Hu Mengqing asked this.
Hearing this, and not wanting to refuse the kind offer—especially since she genuinely needed a non-supernatural solution—Yan Qi nodded to Hu Mengqing. “Then I’ll trouble you, Monitor, to get me a few books.”
“Not at all, it’s part of my duty as class monitor.” After saying this, Hu Mengqing got up again and left the room to find some books for Yan Qi to sit on.
After Hu Mengqing left, the classmates in the room looked at Yan Qi sitting in her seat, their hearts filled with curiosity. After exchanging glances, several of the girls proactively came over to Yan Qi and said:
“Classmate Xiao Qi, can I ask you a question?”
Hearing the question from the girl beside her, and though unsure what it would be, Yan Qi nodded in response. “You can ask me one question.”
Having received permission, the girl quickly seized the opportunity to ask: “I was wondering, Classmate Xiao Qi, why did you decide to come to the graduation party?”
“What? As a student not much different from all of you, am I not qualified to come here and attend the graduation party?”
