“Chief, this is the transcript we compiled from the earlier interrogation of that group of street loafers who gained supernatural powers. Please take a look.”
Hearing this report from the bureau member, Bai Yuling quickly took the transcript from his hands and began rapidly skimming through it.
Noticing the repeated mention, across the nine different superhumans’ transcripts, of a man wearing gold-rimmed glasses and a suit, yet one who left no impression whatsoever, Bai Yuling couldn’t help but frown.
“How many times has this ‘man in the suit’ appeared in the transcripts of the supernatural criminals we’ve arrested in the past half month?”
Faced with Bai Yuling’s question, the bureau member from the interrogation room – who was the person in charge there – thought for a moment and then answered:
“If we count the supernatural criminals caught today as separate instances, this ‘man in the suit’ has already appeared twenty-three times.”
Hearing the bureau member’s answer, Bai Yuling’s gaze fell back onto the transcript in her hand. After a moment of silence, she finally said:
“Already twenty-three times? It seems we have a real formidable character here in Fangfeng City. I wonder what this guy’s goal is, frantically creating so many superhumans.”
Hearing Bai Yuling’s words, the bureau member from the interrogation room thought for a moment and replied:

Hearing his captain’s question, the bureau member – who had rushed out from the temporary dungeon holding supernatural criminals – caught his breath for a moment before quickly looking up and answering:
“It’s that foreign man from the Necromancer Association, the one named Maca. He’s in trouble!”

Descending the stairs into the dungeon, the bureau member from the interrogation room and Bai Yuling quickly saw the group of bureau members currently gathered around Maca’s cell, who had fallen into a state of panic.
“Captain Lei! Chief Bai! You’re here!”
Noticing the arrival of the bureau member from the interrogation room – Lei Xin, Captain Lei, who was responsible for interrogating various supernatural criminals for the bureau – and standing next to him, Bai Yuling, Chief of the Fangfeng City Special Affairs Bureau, the people present instantly seemed to find their anchor.
