Even though he had landed a solid punch on Guo Liangzhi, it was nowhere near enough to quell the fury burning in Guo Liangming’s heart. So, he continued to swing his fists, raining down blows while shouting.
“You damn bastard! Die, just die! Go to hell!”
Pummeled dizzy by his older brother Guo Liangming’s fists, Guo Liangzhi knew the situation was turning very bad. He quickly mustered all his strength and threw a punch of his own, landing it squarely on Guo Liangming’s face.
This finally bought him a chance to catch his breath and break free from his brother’s grip.
“Huff… Guo Liangming, you’re truly insane,” said Guo Liangzhi, his face bruised and swollen. He wiped the wetness under his nose, looked at the blood on his hand, and couldn’t help but voice his anger at Guo Liangming.
Taking Guo Liangzhi’s punch but largely unfazed, Guo Liangming felt his rage burn even hotter upon hearing those words. “Insane? What right do you have to call me insane? You beast, sleeping with your own brother’s wife!”
Hearing Guo Liangming bluntly expose his dirty laundry right in front of Jizi Ge, Guo Liangzhi didn’t want to lose face in front of an outsider, especially a powerful superhuman, which could jeopardize their potential future cooperation. He quickly put on an expression of complete ignorance and loudly retorted to Guo Liangming, “Who slept with your wife? My dear brother, your delusions are getting worse! Xiao Wang, come here and help me subdue my brother. We need to get him to a mental hospital right now!”
Hearing his boss order him to help subdue Guo Liangming, Wang Shuquan finally snapped out of his daze. Ever since the brief but intense fight between Han Xiaohu and Jizi Ge, he had been hiding behind a desk, too scared to move a muscle. Raising his head from behind the desk, he saw that Jizi Ge was still standing while Han Xiaohu was down. Instantly, he let out a sigh of relief.
He promptly scrambled up from behind the desk, ready to follow his boss’s command and help restrain Guo Liangming.
Seeing the two men surrounding him from the front and back, Guo Liangming—though drunk and not entirely clear-headed—still understood that the situation was very unfavorable for him. So, before their encirclement could fully form, he swung his fist again, charging straight for Guo Liangzhi.
Seeing Guo Liangming coming at him again, and having already suffered quite a bit, Guo Liangzhi naturally had no intention of getting tangled up with him. Thus, the two brothers began chasing each other around the office again—a room already left in tatters from the previous fight, with melted water puddles on the floor and the outer windows full of holes.
Watching the two Guo brothers scrambling around the office, Jizi Ge, who had come here precisely for entertainment and to see these bloodsuckers turn on each other, couldn’t help but wear an excited smile.
“What a great show. It’d be even better if one of these vampires kicked the bucket.”
Just as Jizi Ge was watching the spectacle unfold before her, feeling quite satisfied but still harboring a tinge of regret, it was as if the heavens had heard her thoughts. An utterly unforeseen accident suddenly played out right before her eyes.
“Dammit! Can’t you see there’s an outsider here in the office? If this goes on, you’ll disgrace the entire Daheng Realty!” Guo Liangzhi, his back to Guo Liangming who was still chasing him, intent on giving him another beating, was already out of breath, his stamina never having been great. He couldn’t help but utter this complaint.
“I’m disgracing us? Nothing I do could possibly disgrace us as much as what you, this animal, have done! Go to hell!” Hearing this, Guo Liangming felt that compared to the deeds of his beastly younger brother, his own actions were hardly shameful at all. He roared back in fury and quickened his pace.
Sensing Guo Liangming speeding up, Guo Liangzhi knew if this continued, he’d surely be pinned down and beaten again. He hurriedly shouted to Wang Shuquan, who was trailing behind Guo Liangming, trying to help corner and subdue him but never succeeding, “Xiao Wang! Don’t just stand there! Hurry up and find a way to stop my brother!”
Hearing his boss and noticing his deteriorating condition, Wang Shuquan realized Guo Liangzhi’s stamina was almost spent. Worried about his salary for the month, he frantically tried to think of a way to stop Guo Liangming.
His eyes fell on several heavy, thick books sitting on a desk. Instantly, he had an idea.
He stopped tailing Guo Liangming, turned, grabbed the hefty books from the desk, took aim at Guo Liangming’s legs, and threw them, hoping this method would bring him to a halt.
But the books were simply too heavy, and Wang Shuquan had never practiced throwing. Not only did the book he hurled fail to hit Guo Liangming, it instead struck his own boss, Guo Liangzhi, causing him to stumble and crash into the already shattered window glass.
“Director Guo! Are you okay?!” Seeing the book he threw hit his boss instead of the intended target, Wang Shuquan shouted nervously at Guo Liangzhi.
Glancing at the heavy book that had hit him lying on the floor behind him, noticing the other books in Wang Shuquan’s hands, and putting that together with what Wang Shuquan had just said, Guo Liangzhi immediately understood what had happened. He then angrily snapped at Wang Shuquan, “Wang Shuquan, you can kiss this month’s salary goodbye!”
Just as Wang Shuquan stood there dumbfounded, processing that his month’s pay was gone, Guo Liangming saw Guo Liangzhi slumped against the glass window, temporarily immobilized by Wang Shuquan’s errant throw. Without a second thought, he charged forward at full speed, intending to crash into him and pin him down, preventing him from running around and making it impossible to properly teach him a lesson.
But the moment Guo Liangming collided with Guo Liangzhi, the already damaged window glass, which had been pushed to its limit, finally gave way completely.
With a shattering crash of breaking glass, the window on the thirty-second floor of the Daheng Realty headquarters building, along with Guo Liangming and Guo Liangzhi who had been pressed against it, plummeted straight down.
