Gender Swap: I’m About to Transform Using a Card! Chapter 259

While Yan Qi’s main body was busy with her daily cultivation, her avatar was hiding near her parents’ location, secretly protecting them.

Maka, the man in the suit who had already completed his daily tasks for the day—granting supernatural powers to fifteen ordinary people to further stir up trouble in Windproof City—had now arrived near an upscale bar.

Looking up at the tacky English sign hanging at the bar’s entrance, Maka couldn’t help but let out a mocking laugh.

Then, he started walking towards the bar.

Reaching the entrance, he completely ignored the two bouncers stationed there to control the flow of people. Adjusting his suit and reminding himself to stay elegant, just as he had promised his sister, and never to appear rude, Maka strutted into the upscale bar right past the two guards. It was as if they didn’t even see him at all.

Once inside, he took a complimentary cocktail from a server’s tray, took a small sip, and listened to the pianist playing in the background. Although he enjoyed the atmosphere, Maka didn’t forget the purpose of his visit.

Placing the empty glass back on the server’s tray, Maka glanced around and immediately spotted the target that the dark-haired beauty had asked him to help eliminate tonight.

After confirming that the target was inside the bar, Maka began searching for a suitable candidate nearby. He planned to grant someone a bit of supernatural power to stir up some trouble for the people here.

It didn’t take him long to find the right person.

“Hey, young man, got a moment to chat?”

Startled by Maka’s voice suddenly ringing in his ear, a server who had been glaring hatefully at a man—Maka’s target for the night—jumped in surprise.

He then turned his attention to Maka, who had appeared out of nowhere beside him, and quickly asked,

“Who… who are you? Where did you come from?”

Hearing the server’s question, Maka used his abilities to make sure no one around them noticed their conversation and replied,

“Who I am and where I came from—none of that matters. What really matters is whether you’re willing to accept my invitation, isn’t it?”

Hearing that Maka hadn’t answered his questions but instead asked if he was willing to accept an invitation, the server was a bit confused.

But then he realized that, logically, his earlier startled exclamation should have drawn the attention of everyone in the bar. Yet, until now, the people around them were treating them like air, completely ignoring them. No one seemed to notice them at all, as if they were invisible. The server immediately sensed something was off and asked cautiously,

“Why are you asking if I’m willing to accept your invitation? Do you have some kind of ulterior motive?”

Sensing the server’s wariness, Maka simply smiled and pointed toward the target not far away.

“Relax, my friend. I mean you no harm. I just sensed the hatred you feel toward that man.”

Following Maka’s gaze, the server saw that he was pointing at the man who had slapped him earlier for accidentally spilling a bit of his drink. The server froze for a moment.

After a while, the server looked back at Maka and said helplessly,

“Sir, I don’t know what you’re planning, but if you’re looking for money, you’ve got the wrong person.”

“I’m not asking you for money, my friend.”

“Not asking for money? Then why did you say all that?”

Hearing Maka’s response, the server asked, clearly confused.

After all, he couldn’t think of any other reason why this suited-up supernatural being would approach him.

Instead of answering, Maka pointed at the target again and asked,

“My friend, don’t you want revenge on the man who slapped you and trampled on your dignity?”

The server froze once more. After a moment, he replied,

“I really do want to kill that rich bastard, but unfortunately, as an ordinary person, I can’t deal with the consequences of doing that.”

“What if you weren’t an ordinary person anymore?”

“What do you mean by that, sir?”

Frowning, the server asked with evident confusion.

Maka shifted his stance and said,

“What I mean is, do you want to gain supernatural power and become a超凡者 free from worldly constraints?”

Hearing this, the server—who had been following all kinds of information about the supernatural since the official announcement of its arrival—felt his pupils sharply contract.

But knowing that supernatural power wasn’t something easily obtained, he quickly suppressed the urge to immediately say yes. Instead, he cautiously asked,

“Gain supernatural power and become an extraordinary being? Sir, are you sure you’re not joking?”

Maka waved his hand and smiled.

“Do I look like I’m joking?”

The server studied Maka again. Seeing that he genuinely didn’t seem to be deceiving him, he asked further,

“Sir, you certainly don’t seem to be joking, but can you tell me why you’re giving me superpowers and making me a superhuman?”

“Isn’t the reason obvious? I want to give you supernatural power because, like you, I despise these rich people who rely on wealth their ancestors scraped together through shady means to bully ordinary people.”

Hearing Maka’s answer, and seeing the righteous indignation on his face—which blurred whenever his gaze shifted—as if he truly hated the rich people of the world, the waiter, though still wary, no longer suspected him as before.
