Gender Swap: I’m About to Transform Using a Card! Chapter 9

“No need, Auntie. I’ve already intruded on lunch—it’d be too much if I stayed any longer. Besides, my family is waiting for me at home.”

Hu Mengqing firmly declined Li Caifeng’s offer.

Hearing this, Li Caifeng didn’t press further. “Alright, Xiao Qing, if you insist, I won’t keep you. Xiao Qi, walk Mengqing to the door.”

“Got it, Mom. Oh, by the way, where’s Dad?”

Once they reached the living room, Yan Qi noticed the familiar tall figure was missing and asked.

“He got a call earlier—something came up at the bureau, so he went back to work.”

“Ah, the bureau. I see.”

Knowing her father was a police officer, Yan Qi immediately understood and didn’t ask further. Instead, she followed her mother’s instruction and escorted Hu Mengqing to the front door.

“Class President, I’ll see you off here. We’ll meet again at the graduation party next Sunday.”

“Mm, see you at the graduation party.”

After saying goodbye and watching Hu Mengqing disappear from sight, Yan Qi finally returned home.

That evening, with a full belly from her mother’s cooking, Yan Qi flopped onto her bed, its sheets carrying the faint, sweet scent of a teenage girl. She sprawled out, feeling too lazy to move.

But then she remembered—she still hadn’t tried out the other two transformation cards.

Summoning the willpower to fight her lethargy, she forced herself up and opened the system interface.

Re-entering the transformation card library, Yan Qi pondered for a moment before selecting one of the two remaining unused cards. Following the system’s method, she activated the transformation.

In the next instant, a fox-eared loli appeared in her room—complete with fluffy fox ears atop her head, a swaying tail, and dressed in a light-red modified hanfu with a large gourd strapped to her back.

“So this is the Fox Loli? Just as I thought—a healer who can also deal damage. Adorable, but testing the skills might be tricky.”

Staring at her reflection in the vanity mirror, Yan Qi—now fully versed in the card’s abilities—murmured to herself.

Not lingering on the fox loli’s cuteness for too long, she quickly dismissed the transformation, recalling the remaining unused six-star card.

The next moment, Yan Qi vanished again, replaced by a blue twin-tailed songstress wearing headphones and a school-style outfit, exuding youthful charm.

As the transformation completed, just like before, Yan Qi instantly grasped the new form’s skills and talents. A glint of excitement flashed in her eyes as she raised her hands and declared:

“As expected of a six-star card—this is amazing.”

Without wasting time, she hurried to her desktop computer and placed a hand on it.

Then, activating her skill—Digital Dive—the virtual diva transformed into streams of data, merging into the vast expanse of the internet.

Inside the digital world, Yan Qi marveled at the endless torrents of electronic information flowing past her. Feeling playful, she reached out and tapped a passing stream.

Instantly, countless links related to her thoughts materialized before her.

With a quick scan, she waved away irrelevant results, keeping only the useful ones.

Grinning mischievously, she sent all the selected links back to her computer.

But then, her enthusiasm waned—until she remembered the hostile nations that had been antagonizing her country in recent years.

A spark of inspiration struck.

Within minutes, she had dug up shocking scandals from classified databases—blackmail-worthy secrets of politicians from those very nations.

Having already assumed the worst of them, Yan Qi was still taken aback.

“These so-called respectable figures… not a single one is even remotely decent. Time to let the public see what you’re really made of.”

Without hesitation, she uploaded every incriminating file to public platforms, exposing them for the world to see.

Mission accomplished, Yan Qi felt a surge of satisfaction. To reward herself, she dove into foreign video platforms, browsing freely—strictly sticking to free content, of course.

But as she reveled in the boundless digital ocean, she stumbled upon dozens of videos that had been swiftly deleted or shadow-banned.

“Hmm… I smell drama.”

Intrigued, she promptly restored the deleted clips, planning to check the thumbnails first for safety.

Yet the moment she saw the preview images, she froze.

The content was unfamiliar to most—but not to Yan Qi, who had encountered them just that morning.

“Abyssal Monsters? They’ve appeared overseas too? Oh, right… rifts can open anywhere in the real world.”

Correcting her earlier oversight, she clicked play.

The video, narrated by an angry foreigner (with copious profanity), showed dozens of grotesque Abyssal Monsters—bloated masses covered in human limbs—emerging from the sea and slaughtering crowds on a packed beach.

“These foreigners are insane. People are dying, and they’re still filming like it’s a spectacle.”

After the video ended, Yan Qi couldn’t help but make complaints.

Then, tracing the uploader’s IP, she pinpointed the location of the incident.

Without delay, Yan Qi—now a living stream of data—raced toward the site at light speed, traveling along undersea fiber-optic cables.
