Soul Exchange: This School Beauty Isn’t So Cold Chapter 1

“Huh? Why did I fall asleep?” Su Mo stretched lazily, his movement suddenly freezing as he felt an unexpected weight on his chest.

Looking down, his eyes widened in shock.

Why are my chest platforms expanding?! Σ(っ°Д °;)っ

Staring at his suddenly voluptuous curves, Su Mo was speechless.

He was sitting in the backseat of a taxi, and the window reflected the image of a young girl—delicate and stunning, with shimmering eyes like autumn water and neatly combed black hair resting gracefully on her shoulders.

Damn… My handsome face, my Adam’s apple, my—little brother… They’re all gone! I’ve turned into a woman!

Well, more accurately, a teenage girl.

To get a better look, he leaned closer to the rearview mirror.

The face staring back was that of a 17 or 18-year-old girl, even with a hint of baby fat.

Su Mo couldn’t process it. He distinctly remembered just finishing his university registration and taking a quick nap in his dorm. How did he end up in such an absurd situation?

Am I dreaming?

He pinched himself—hard.

Ouch!

Definitely not a dream.

“Driver, I need to get out!” Su Mo called out in a sweet voice, startling himself.

He was convinced that once he stepped out of the car, he’d wake up.

The driver, oblivious to his internal crisis, replied kindly, “Hold on, let me pull over properly. It’s crowded today—be careful when you step out.”

But when he got out, he didn’t “wake up.” Instead, he found himself standing at the gates of Jingjiang University.

She goes here too?

Su Mo realized that not only was this not a dream, but his current self and his real self were actually schoolmates.

“Oh, the driver stopped because we’d arrived…”

Still shaken, he barely had time to collect himself before several upperclassmen swarmed over, eager to help him with his luggage. One tall, familiar-looking senior grabbed his bags and asked, “Which dorm are you in, junior?”

Su Mo almost blurted out “Building 4, Room 206”—but then remembered that was the boys’ dorm.

The girls’ dorm? Forget the awkwardness—he didn’t even know his own identity now, let alone his dorm details. After a brief pause, he said coolly, “Let’s go to Building 4 first.”

He needed to find his real self—maybe that would help.

The senior froze. “Building 4… is the boys’ dorm?”

“I know.” Su Mo kept his answers short, trying to appear aloof to avoid suspicion.

“But…” The senior hesitated, then, looking at the stunning girl in front of him, suddenly steeled himself. “Building 4 it is! If the junior wants to go, she must have her reasons.”

Hmph.

Su Mo smirked inwardly. Now he remembered why this guy looked familiar—when he’d arrived as a male freshman, this same “helpful” senior had ignored him and immediately rushed to assist a lost-looking girl instead…

With his luggage taken care of, Su Mo leisurely checked the phone in his bag, hoping for clues—only to be thwarted by an 8-digit passcode.

Seriously? Who still uses such a lame lock screen these days? No fingerprint or face ID?

As they walked, he noticed countless glances flickering his way—some pretending to scratch their noses, others “casually” looking around, their eyes darting like pinballs.

The “want to look but too shy, try not to look but can’t resist” expressions nearly made him laugh.

So this is how awkward it feels to get caught staring at a pretty girl… Hahaha!

Back in the day, he’d stretched, yawned, and even checked the weather just to sneak a peek at the goddess sitting behind him. And when their eyes did meet, he’d been the one flustered.

What guy doesn’t have a little teenage impulse? Su Mo could relate—so despite the discomfort, he smiled back.

Instantly, whispers reached his ears:

“Wow, her smile is so sweet!”
“Pretty girls really are kinder…”
“Watch me win her over in seconds, bros!”

“Seems you’re quite popular, junior,” the tall senior chimed in, eager for conversation.

Su Mo ignored him.

Understanding ≠ Forgiving.

The senior awkwardly chuckled and dropped the subject.

Just as Su Mo was wondering what to say when he found “himself”—or what to do if “he” didn’t exist—a familiar voice called out from ahead:

“Ye Qingyi! I’ve been waiting—why are you so late?”

Su Mo didn’t recognize the name, but he knew that voice.

Looking up, he saw “himself” waving from about ten meters away—posture elegant, demeanor cool, nothing like an average freshman.

Taking a deep breath, Su Mo approached and stopped two steps away.

“S-Sorry to keep you waiting…”

His voice trembled, his cheeks flushing without warning.

The feeling? Like seeing a ghost—staring at himself from the outside for the first time, without a mirror.

“Oh, you two know each other?” The senior sounded disappointed but unsurprised. Girls visiting boys’ dorms usually meant one thing…

Meanwhile, “Su Mo” calmly took the luggage, thanked the senior, and led him to a nearby noodle shop.

“Hey—what are you doing?!”

Once seated, “Su Mo” ordered two bowls of braised noodles, then studied the girl across the table with amusement.

“So this is how I look when I blush… Cute.”

“You—” Before Su Mo could retort, a finger lightly pressed against his lips.

“Eat first. We’ll talk after.”

Su Mo glared at his former self, now occupied by someone else—likely the original owner of his current body. A thousand profanities raced through his mind.

But with so many people around, this wasn’t the place for explanations.

The noodles arrived quickly, steaming and fragrant.

Su Mo devoured his in seconds, while “Su Mo” ate with refined slowness—graceful, but undeniably… girly.

“Give me your phone.”

“Oh.” Su Mo meekly handed it over, watching as “he” paid for the meal and returned it.

A middle-aged man at the next table muttered disapprovingly, “Young men these days—no backbone. Embarrassing.”

Su Mo nearly tripped hearing that. Hey, I’m not even a guy anymore!

The realization hit him like a truck, and a wave of despair crashed over him.

Damn you, heavens! If you’ve got a problem, take it up with ME! What’s the deal turning me into a girl?!

And not just any girl—a ridiculously pretty one…

(Note: Unless specified otherwise, “he” refers to Su Mo, “she” refers to Ye Qingyi.)
