Su Mo never expected that the first time he stayed in a love hotel would be with… himself.
The moment the round bed and all sorts of flashy decor came into view, the atmosphere instantly turned suggestive.
Let’s be real—when two people of the opposite sex are alone in a place like this, something is bound to happen, right?
But Su Mo wasn’t in the mood for any of that.
In the past, saying he had “no thoughts” would’ve been an insult to himself.
Now? Any sane guy wouldn’t—and couldn’t—dare to have such thoughts.
“Gotta admit, young people these days really know how to have fun…” Su Mo muttered under his breath, acknowledging how eye-opening this was.
Ye Qingyi, though outwardly calm, was inwardly stunned. Despite her worldly experience, she’d never imagined a hotel room could have so many… features. Some of the strange contraptions left her completely clueless about their purpose.
“I’m going to shower first,” Ye Qingyi said before disappearing into the bathroom.
When she emerged again, she was wrapped in a towel.
“My figure is still as perfect as ever,” Su Mo shamelessly complimented.
When it was Su Mo’s turn, Ye Qingyi sat on the edge of the bed, lost in thought. Her expression flickered between awkward and pensive.
As he stepped out of the bathroom, her gaze immediately landed on him—only for her to shake her head in disdain. “That’s not how you wrap a towel. It looks terrible. Here, let me show you.”
She moved to adjust it for him, but Su Mo recoiled like a startled animal, his face twisting in horror. “Stop right there! Don’t move! We’re of opposite sexes now—you can’t just touch me like that!”
Ye Qingyi rolled her eyes. “Oh please, you’ve only been a girl for a couple of days and now you’re acting like a blushing maiden? It’s my body—why wouldn’t I be allowed to touch it?”
“It’s different now! You’re in a guy’s body, and if you see something and get… excited…” Su Mo couldn’t bring himself to finish, his “pretty face” flushing bright red.
Ye Qingyi couldn’t help but laugh. She never expected Su Mo’s worries to be so… adorable?
Her original body was undeniably beautiful, and the post-shower dampness added a subtle allure.
Such a pretty face… I kinda want to kiss it.
The thought crossed her mind, but she had no intention of actually acting on it.
Even though Su Mo saw her as some kind of pervert right now, she did have boundaries. Some thoughts were just instinctive.
“Look at you, all shy and delicate. If I weren’t injured right now, I’d definitely teach you a lesson,” Ye Qingyi huffed playfully, deciding to let him off the hook.
Sigh… that should’ve been my line.
Resigned, Su Mo decided to spend the night on the couch.
Ye Qingyi understood his reservations and didn’t press further.
That night, neither of them trained. Instead, they slept soundly, finally giving their tense minds a break.
Especially Ye Qingyi—her precognitive abilities had drained her mentally, so she passed out immediately and didn’t wake until noon.
Su Mo had already bought food and left it by the bed for her to enjoy the moment she opened her eyes.
Having lived alone for so long, Ye Qingyi found herself cherishing this small act of care.
“Thanks,” she said sincerely.
Su Mo stared at her like she’d grown a second head. “Did you take the wrong pills or something?”
“Piss off.”
There it is—the familiar attitude.
After eating, they checked out and returned to campus, walking in silence the whole way.
Once they got out of the car, they adjusted their masks and hats before heading into the school.
Only after their figures disappeared did the door of a parked taxi finally open.
Sun Yuchen stepped out casually, muttering to himself, “They couldn’t have just gotten back now, right? So last night…”
A sour feeling churned in his chest. The thought of that annoyingly handsome guy spending the night with the girl he liked made him inexplicably angry.
Wait, why am I mad? My “liking” her is just a guy’s natural reaction to a beautiful woman anyway. What she does has nothing to do with me.
With that rationalization, his mood lightened considerably. He strode into campus with his usual confident swagger.
Sun Yuchen was now one of Jingjiang University’s most prominent figures—his reputation rivaled, if not surpassed, even Ye Qingyi’s.
Unlike the low-key Su Mo, however, Sun Yuchen made no effort to hide. He even waved at the security guard on his way in.
Since it was peak foot traffic, plenty of people recognized him—including a few girls who boldly asked for his number.
Sun Yuchen wasn’t the type to add just anyone, though.
He only added the pretty ones…
Meanwhile, Su Mo and Ye Qingyi returned to their respective dorms, only to receive a message from Wang Ye shortly after.
They were needed at the branch office to give statements for their mission evaluation.
The appointment was set for 3 p.m., which worked perfectly since they had no other plans.
Su Mo decided to squeeze in some training and review the mission details beforehand.
Just as he settled in, his phone rang—the caller ID showed “Unknown.”
“Hello?”
Silence.
“Hello?”
Still nothing.
Right as he was about to hang up, a deep male voice finally spoke:
“Miss Qingyi, my organization is very interested in you. Would you be open to a meeting?”
There was something hypnotic about the man’s voice—it made the listener want to say yes.
“Sorry, not interested,” Su Mo replied, immediately wary of the caller’s intentions.
“Don’t be so quick to refuse. Don’t you want to know what we can offer you?” The voice was smooth, almost coaxing.
“I don’t need anything from you.” This time, Su Mo hung up before the other person could respond.
The moment he did, the number called again. And again. And again.
After blocking it, he suddenly received a text from an unlisted number.
Opening it, he saw it was from the same person:
My apologies, Miss Qingyi. I may have disturbed you, but this is something you must hear—for your own benefit. If you’re curious, meet me tonight at 8 p.m. at Restaurant 126, South Third Road.
Su Mo frowned. What was this person’s goal? Why were they so insistent on recruiting him?
More importantly—what did they know? Why were they so sure he’d be interested?
Before he could dwell on it, another message arrived:
Truth is, your beautiful body houses quite an… interesting soul. Consider this a gesture of goodwill—a little secret, just for you. Oh, and come alone. Too many people, and I won’t show.
Su Mo’s entire body stiffened. He nearly dropped his phone.
This wasn’t an invitation—it was a threat.
Or worse—proof that they knew how to switch their souls back… and intended to use it as leverage.
He knew going was a risk.
But what if there was a way to return to their own bodies?
