Soul Exchange: This School Beauty Isn’t So Cold Chapter 5

The fire-breathing boy was taken away by the men in black, leaving the school behind.

Meanwhile, the school’s forum was in chaos—flooded with videos, photos, and discussions about him.

[Social Rooster]
The crowd surged, the instructors danced, some had flames shooting from their orifices, others were stunned in horror… Is this the distortion of human nature or the collapse of morality?

[NoNameTillIELTS6]
After thorough analysis, I conclude that Earth has entered an era of spiritual revival. That fire-breathing guy is clearly one of the awakened, having unlocked the “Pyrokinesis” ability.

[Y’allAreJustKids]
Some people are ridiculous, spouting nonsense without knowing the truth. I’m honestly speechless…

[HaterGonnaHate]
Just dropping a “6” here.

[FutureScientist]
Could it be that the “fire-breathing boy” just has a rare disease?

[BigBrainTime]
No way. Did you not see those men in black? They’re obviously from a special organization—probably superhumans themselves. The way they subdued him with a single finger was like The Great Master’s Solar Finger technique.

The barrage of messages continued, overwhelming many phones to the point of malfunction. Su Mo, however, had no such worries—Ye Qingyi had bought him the latest high-end model, so lag was out of the question.

He immediately headed to Building Four, where he ran into Ye Qingyi and her roommates (who were technically his roommates).

“Come with me. I need to talk to you,” he said bluntly, pulling her aside by the arm, leaving the three boys utterly bewildered.

“What are you doing? Dragging me out like this in front of my roommates—it’s embarrassing!” Ye Qingyi frowned.

My roommates, you mean… Whatever, let’s focus.” He opened the school forum, only to find it had already been shut down. “The school works fast.”

“What did you want to say?”

“Who were those men in black?”

“Oh, them?” Ye Qingyi’s expression cleared. “They’re from the Beidou Organization—officially called the ‘Special Operations Unit.’ Their job is to manage superhumans nationwide.”

“So, every superhuman is registered with them?”

“Not necessarily. Some rogue cultivators slip under the radar, and certain powerful families recruit and train their own superhumans. As long as they don’t cause trouble, Beidou usually turns a blind eye.”

“Which means you’re not part of Beidou, right?”

“Right. I only answer to my family.”

Su Mo exhaled in relief. The fewer people and factions they tangled with now, the easier it’d be to stay hidden.

“Hey, do you think what happened to us might also be some kind of ability? Like, I awakened a ‘soul-swap’ power but can’t control it yet, so I accidentally became you.” After the “fire-breathing boy” incident, Su Mo started drawing parallels.

Ye Qingyi scoffed. “Oh? So you’re admitting you hijacked my body?”

“Don’t twist my words! I, Su Mo, am a respectable man.”

“You know exactly what I mean.” She gritted her teeth, itching to tear into him—but seeing her own face softened her anger. “You’re shameless.”

Su Mo couldn’t help but grin at her frustration.

Suddenly, his phone rang. His expression darkened when he saw the caller ID.

“Who is it?”

“Your sister.”

“She probably heard about the incident and is worried. Just stay calm and don’t slip up.” Ye Qingyi was equally nervous.

Su Mo nodded and answered.

“Hey, sis. What’s up?”

A mature, domineering voice came through—Ye Qingyu’s. “I heard there was an out-of-control superhuman at your school. You weren’t hurt, were you?”

“Don’t worry, I stayed far away from it.”

“You probably never left the scene, did you?” Her tone was dry.

Su Mo chuckled awkwardly.

“Whatever. As long as you’re fine.” She sounded busy. “Oh, how’s the dorm? Settling in okay?”

“Yeah, my roommates are great.”

“Good. If it gets uncomfortable, you can stay in my apartment. It’s empty since I’m not there.”

“Okay…”

After hanging up, she texted him the address: Single Apartment 309. The key was with one of her friends.

“Not bad acting,” Ye Qingyi admitted.

“I’m moving into your sister’s place after military training. The dorm’s too inconvenient.”

The school required all students to stay in dorms during military training, or he’d have left already.

“Did something happen last night?” Ye Qingyi eyed him suspiciously.

“No! Absolutely not.” To deflect, he fired back, “What about you? How’s it been with my roommates? Any trouble?”

“Pfft, as if. Who do you think I am? A few boys wouldn’t dare mess with me.”

What he really worried about was her unfamiliarity with being male—if she acted too timid, he’d end up labeled effeminate. On his end, though, as long as he didn’t go overboard, at worst, people might call her a tomboy.

And with that face? They’d just say she had personality.

“Alright, I’ll head out then. Make sure you learn how to act like a guy—don’t get called ‘girly.’”

“Please, I’m way manlier now!” She flexed her arms in a bicep pose, though her movements were still stiff. Old habits died hard.

He walked off laughing, his radiant smile turning heads.

For convenience, he’d adopted a neutral wardrobe, but even so, his striking looks, curves, and effortless grace still left boys staring.

The class group chat announced an evening meeting to elect a military training leader (temporary class monitor).

But when night came, an awkward truth surfaced: the entire class had only nine students—five boys and four girls. He’d known this beforehand, but seeing it in person was different.

Of the girls, three had distinct charms—Xia Qingqing was cute, Yin Xiaowan gentle, and Lin Rou aloof.

The other five boys were practically giddy, already envisioning their “close proximity advantage.”

Eventually, a decent-looking guy won the monitor role and tried adding Su Mo on WeChat (Green Bubble), citing “easier management.” Su Mo coldly refused: We have QQ. No need for extras.

Dejected, the guy slunk away.

That night, sticky with sweat, Su Mo debated showering. Hesitation gnawed at him, but after much deliberation, he accepted reality.

Who knew how long—or if—they’d return to their original bodies? He couldn’t stay squeamish forever.

Besides, for all he knew, Ye Qingyi had already explored his body thoroughly. If he didn’t reclaim some dignity, he’d be shortchanging himself.

With clumsy fingers, Su Mo gathered the silky black hair behind him, then slowly undid his clothes, revealing porcelain skin.

Of course, this all happened in the bathroom—he wasn’t bold enough to strip in front of three girls. His upbringing would never allow it.
