The Return of the Gender-Swapped Sage Chapter 21

In the bathroom, Xue Ji gazed at her flawless, delicate skin and couldn’t help but swallow hard. Compared to those first few days, she no longer felt such a strong sense of guilt. It’s all mine anyway—what’s there to be shy about? Yet when she looked in the mirror, she instinctively covered her chest.

Maybe at first, she had wanted to look. But later, Xue Ji only felt conflicted—taking a shower had become something she had to do cautiously, and in the beginning, she had even been so nervous she got nosebleeds. If this keeps up, my daily life is going to be a mess. Add to that the long list of “things girls need to pay attention to” her mother had drilled into her, and her head was practically spinning.

After finishing her bath, she wrapped her damp hair in a towel, draped another around her body, and stepped out of the bathroom. Being a girl is such a hassle—washing, drying, conditioning… Maybe I should just cut it all off. How much time am I supposed to waste on this useless connective tissue?

Half an hour later, dressed in pajamas, Xue Ji couldn’t wait to collapse onto the bed. She was exhausted—using Lilith for so long, the intense battles, the business with the Pioneers and the Esper Unit… Right now, she didn’t even want to think. Just recalling it all made her tired.

Knock, knock, knock.

The sound of knocking came from the door. Xue Ji forced her voice to sound as weary as possible. “Come in… It’s unlocked.”

By the time Ling Xiaoxiao entered the room, Xue Ji was already asleep. Moving quietly, it took Ling Xiaoxiao a full minute to close the door. She approached the bed and admired Xue Ji’s sleeping face—the snow-haired girl, completely defenseless, her long lashes stirring an inexplicable itch in the heart, the kind that made one want to reach out and touch. The gentle rise and fall of her chest and the obvious fatigue made her seem even more fragile than usual.

This little thing, completely helpless, actually fell asleep after letting the wolf in the door… Ling Xiaoxiao was at a loss for words.

If I took advantage of her like this, would she come after me tomorrow? Unspeakable images flashed through Ling Xiaoxiao’s mind—a girl bound in chains, glaring at her in fury, resisting at first, then pleading, and finally sinking into numb resignation. The memories tangled pleasure and guilt in her heart.

Now, the girl she had longed for day and night was lying right there. Ling Xiaoxiao moved as carefully as if handling a block of tofu, lifting a corner of the thin blanket and slowly sliding under it.

The scent unique to Xue Ji filled her senses. Ling Xiaoxiao’s hand instinctively reached out, but seeing Xue Ji completely still, she finally relaxed and moved closer. Once again, she pulled Xue Ji into her arms. Xue Ji’s body temperature ran slightly low, and she had a habit of clinging to blankets or pillows in her sleep. But if someone slept beside her, she would instinctively seek them out, burrowing closer. This was a pattern Ling Xiaoxiao had deduced from her last experience.

So Ling Xiaoxiao lay there, keeping just a hand’s width of distance, quietly waiting for Xue Ji to make her move.

An hour later, Xue Ji murmured and turned over, muttering something unintelligible—something about “Avada Kedavra” and “Don’t run away, Demon King.”

Seeing her shift, Ling Xiaoxiao inched closer. Their arms were already touching when suddenly, Xue Ji wrapped herself entirely around Ling Xiaoxiao, pulling one of her arms tightly against her chest.

“Don’t you dare run… Prepare to die…”

Ling Xiaoxiao felt Xue Ji’s small arms tightening around her, but the strength was so feeble that to her, it felt more like she was taking advantage of Xue Ji. The softness pressing against her arm, the friction and pressure—Ling Xiaoxiao could no longer stay calm. The flames of desire burned fiercely in her eyes.

“Xue Ji… You’re so cruel, punishing me like this.” Ling Xiaoxiao’s heart was in turmoil, caught between overwhelming lust and surging guilt. The two forces collided inside her, threatening to tear her apart.

This time, Ling Xiaoxiao was the one who wanted to escape. But afraid of disturbing Xue Ji’s sleep, she didn’t dare struggle too hard. And the more she squirmed, the more Xue Ji responded—burrowing deeper into her embrace, forcing Ling Xiaoxiao to adjust her position again and again. Eventually, they ended up face-to-face, Xue Ji on top, her head nestled against Ling Xiaoxiao’s neck.

In that moment, Ling Xiaoxiao understood what it meant to suffer in bliss, to be so happy it was agony. This kind of intimate contact, initiated by Xue Ji, was something she had never even dared imagine before.

“You… big… meanie… I’ll bite you to death…” Still talking in her sleep, Xue Ji then proceeded to do exactly that—opening her little mouth and aiming for Ling Xiaoxiao’s face.

The sight was so shocking that Ling Xiaoxiao barely had time to react. Luckily, Xue Ji missed slightly, her teeth sinking into Ling Xiaoxiao’s cheek instead.

The faint pain sent an unexpected thrill through Ling Xiaoxiao. If not for Xue Ji drooling on her, she might have let the position linger even longer.

Finally, Ling Xiaoxiao wrapped her arms around Xue Ji, holding her like a pillow. Snuggled like this, Xue Ji finally settled down, sinking into deep sleep.

But Ling Xiaoxiao couldn’t sleep at all. Staring at the ceiling, she replayed the sensation of Xue Ji pressing against her—like a serpent of fire coiling around her, stoking her desire, or a mischievous cat toying with her limits.

By dawn, the darkness had begun to fade, the sky outside turning a hazy gray. After a whole night of torment, Ling Xiaoxiao was finally on the verge of exhaustion, sleep threatening to pull her under.

But just as her eyelids grew heavy, a sharp pain flared at her collarbone. She looked down—Xue Ji was biting her again.

“Got you…”

That bite wiped away half of Ling Xiaoxiao’s drowsiness. Watching Xue Ji torment her even in sleep, a restless heat burned inside her with no outlet. Her thoughts spiraled—Who the hell is she dreaming about to act like this?

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got, to the point where she almost wished she could dive into Xue Ji’s dreams and drag that person out.

Now fully awake, Ling Xiaoxiao got up in a huff and stormed into the bathroom. She didn’t emerge until forty minutes later, her expression full of resentment. Glaring at the still-sleeping Xue Ji, she clenched her fists, fighting the urge to punch her. But after a few tense moments, she gave up, retreating to the guest room to catch up on sleep.

Little did Xue Ji know, she had already gotten revenge in her dreams for that earlier hug—and then some.
